The first two downhill training of the women’s World Cup season are in the books, and the best skiers in the world are going to be ripping down the mountain at the Lake Louise for the annual Audi FIS Ski World Cup. There will be three straight days of racing starting with two downhills on Friday and Saturday and finishing with the Super-g on Sunday.

Norway’s Kajsa Vickhoff Lie and Alice McKennis (USA) posted the fastest times in the first downhill training. The Norwegian repeats her self once again clocking the fastest time for the second training run played followed by Tamara Tippler (AUT). The young Norwegian never had a World Cup top ten in the past, and it might be tomorrow the first chance to dream big.

Unfortunately, a few dark spots came after the first training when Tiffany Gauthier (FRA) and Jasmine Flury (SUI) have suffered from knee injuries that have forced them to return home for further examination. During the second training, Ariane Raedler had to be airlifted off the course after a crash.  The diagnosis revealed an ACL and MCL tear in her right knee, which means a premature season end.
