As forecasted, the first Super G of the season in Val d'Isère went down under a constant snowfall and it was Mauro Caviezel (SUI) to walk away wit the victory!

The Swiss speed ace reminded everyone once again why he is wearing the Super G red bib and took his first World Cup victory. He had finished in the top five in each of the last seven Super G races and today he did even better scoring the fastest time with a clean run.

Caviezel was not the only one to celebrate a 'first time' success. Adrian Smiseth Sejersted (NOR) and Christian Walder (AUT), who started shortly after the Swiss man, finished respectively in second and third place, achieving the first World Cup podium of their career.

Sejersted, who was only 0.10s slower than Caviezel, was the fastest of the Attacking Vickings. His best result until today was a fourth place in Kvitfjell's Super G back in 2018.

Walder picked it up where he left off and built on his positive moment after the fourth place scored in Saalbach-Hinterglemm last season! He finished third, 0.54s behind the leader, just ahead of Travis Ganong (USA) and teammate Vincent Kriechmayr.

On Sunday at 10.30 CETVal d'Isère will play host to the Downhill race, set to take place in more favourable weather conditions.
