Oct 06, 2023·Alpine SkiingWelcomed by local ski stars, including multiple-time 3Tre winner Ingemar Stenmark (SWE), in Stockholm's AUDI Showroom, the Italian FIS Ski Alpine World Cup Night Slalom opened the promotional tour of the 70th edition this Wednesday, October 4 in Sweden.
Wednesday's vernissage marked the first 3Tre event in Sweden, a nation with a rich tradition in skiing and slalom disciplines. Notable figures include the legend Ingemar Stenmark (a 12-time 3Tre winner in four different disciplines: slalom, giant slalom, combined, and parallel slalom) and Olympic gold medalist André Myhrer, along with other top-3 athletes in Madonna's history, such as Kristoffer Jakobsen, Jens Byggmark, Anja Paerson, Thomas Fogdoe, Jonas Nilsson, and Stieg Strand.
Madonna di Campiglio's Night Slalom, which celebrates its 70th edition on December 22 on the Canalone Miramonti slope, brought forth a captivating opener for the 3Tre on Tour in Stockholm, where a significant novelty was unveiled. Starting this year, the Swedish company Rdbr will design the official clothing for the 3Tre Team. The company from Göteborg has established partnerships with world-renowned teams and events in alpine skiing, ranging from the 2025 Ski Alpine World Championships in Saalbach, Austria, to the Swedish Alpine Ski Federation, represented in Stockholm by speed events specialist Felix Monsen and marketing manager Gunnar Neurerissen.
On December 22nd, Madonna di Campiglio will be at its finest for the iconic show on the Canalone Miramonti slope, one of the temples of slalom recognized worldwide. It is a breathtaking and unforgiving natural theater that fills with enthusiastic spectators every December 22nd, as Stenmark has recalled.
"I won my first World Cup race in Madonna di Campiglio, and I have always enjoyed returning because it's a welcoming destination where you feel the warmth of the fans. Moreover, I've always loved the Canalone Miramonti."
The 70th edition of the 3Tre slalom (first run: 17:45 CET, second run: 20:45 CET) awaits the top names in the discipline, including defending champion Daniel Yule (SUI), Norway's Henrik Kristoffersen and Lucas Pinheiro Braathen, France's Clement Noel, and the local favorite, Alex Vinatzer. In addition, Sweden hopes that Kristoffer Jakobsen can secure its first win in Madonna di Campiglio after achieving third place in the 2020 edition.
3Tre on Tour continues on Thursday, October 26th, with the first Italian event, in Bologna's Casa Museo Savini.
