Jun 10, 2025·Alpine SkiingAs the snow melted and ski boots were tucked away for the summer, World Cup athletes took a well-earned break from training routines and icy gates. Whether seeking tropical warmth, outdoor adventure, or simply the comfort of home, skiers across the tour made the most of their off-season.
Here’s a glimpse into how some of them spent their holidays before diving into pre-season prep once again.
Seaside escapes and island vibes
The beach continues to be the go-to destination for relaxation. Mikaela Shiffrin (USA/Atomic) enjoyed some quality time at the beach with her family, soaking in sun and serenity.
Romane Miradoli (FRA/Dynastar) took it up a notch with surf sessions and sunshine in El Salvador, making the most of the Pacific waves—and the local pupusas.
Meanwhile, Sofia Goggia (ITA/Atomic) and Wendy Holdener (SUI/Head) both escaped to the Maldives, each enjoying crystal-clear waters and peaceful days in paradise—Wendy sharing the experience with her family, making it even more special.
Marta Bassino (ITA/Salomon) also opted for an idyllic escape, heading to the Seychelles for a dose of white sand and turquoise sea.
Zrinka Ljutic (CRO/Atomic) combined beach with sport, heading to Gran Canaria and adding some windsurfing action to her off-season fun.
African adventures
Alex Vinatzer (ITA/Atomic) chose the vast beauty of South Africa for his break, exploring nature and culture at the southern tip of the continent.
Cornelia Huetter (AUT/Head) took a more off-the-beaten-track approach with a backpacking trip through Cape Verde, embracing the laid-back island lifestyle and discovering hidden corners of the archipelago.
Mediterranean moments
Greece was a favorite this year, with both Corinne Suter (SUI/Head) and Timon Haugan (NOR/Van Deer) spending their off-time soaking up the sun and enjoying the relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere.
Kajsa Vickhoff Lie (NOR/Head) stayed closer to home, vacationing in Austria with her family and focusing on outdoor activities like biking and hiking in the alpine summer.
American adventures
Camille Rast (SUI/Head) set out on a road trip through the United States, discovering new places along the way and making the most of the freedom of the open road.
Home sweet home – and beyond
Lucas Pinheiro Braathen (BRA/Atomic) spent part of his off-season in his mother’s homeland, Brazil, where he reconnected with family and embraced the vibrant rhythm of local life. He also made stops in New York City and Milan, soaking up the energy, culture, and style each destination had to offer.
