High-Speed action at the 2026 Grand Prix La Parva

The 2026 Grand Prix La Parva delivered four days of high-level speed racing in the Chilean Andes, with the world’s Alpine skiing elite competing in Downhill and Super-G from 1 to 4 September as part of the South American Cup (SAC).

With athletes reaching speeds of more than 130 km/h, the challenging La Parva course provided a demanding setting for the competition, which brought together an international field during the Northern Hemisphere summer. The races offered valuable FIS points and further opportunities for athletes and teams to compete during the off-season.

Strong performances across Downhill and Super-G

Felix Roesle (GER/Rossignol) was the standout performer in the men’s Downhill events, securing victory in both races. Matthieu Bailet (FRA/Head) finished runner-up on both occasions, while Felix Monsén (SWE/Atomic) claimed third place in the opening Downhill and again finished on the podium in the second race.

In the Super-G, Benno Brandis (GER/Atomic) also completed a clean sweep, winning both races. Monsén finished second in the opening race, with Brandis’ teammate Luis Vogt (GER/Rossignol) and Nejc Naralocnik (SLO/Atomic) sharing third place. In the second Super-G, Bailet and French teammate Adrien Fresquet (FRA/Head) completed the podium behind Brandis.

In the women’s events, the competition featured a close battle between Haley Cutler (USA/Atomic) and Barbora Novakova (CZE/Kästle). Cutler won the opening Downhill, before Novakova responded with victory in the second Downhill and went on to win both Super-G races.

Chile’s Matilde Schwencke (CHI/Head) also made her mark on the competition, securing third place in both the opening Downhill and the second Super-G. She added a fourth-place finish in the second Downhill, recording a series of strong results against an international field.

The La Parva stop on the Chile Winter Series

The Grand Prix La Parva forms part of the Chile Winter Series, which brings together FIS Alpine, Ski Cross and Snowboard Cross competitions at several Chilean resorts during the Southern Hemisphere winter.

Following the opening Alpine races at El Colorado in August, La Parva hosted the speed competitions of the South American Cup. The 2026 series will continue at Corralco Ski Resort, where further Alpine competitions will take place alongside FIS Ski Cross and Snowboard Cross events.

The races at La Parva were held under good snow conditions, allowing the four speed events to be completed as scheduled. The competition also provided international teams with an opportunity to continue their preparation and racing programmes during the Northern Hemisphere summer.
