FIS Rollerski World Championships 2017 in Sollefteå ready to roll
Aug 31, 2018·Cross-CountryToday, 2nd August, the official opening ceremony marks the start of the FIS Rollerski World Championships in Sollefteå (SWE).
More than 120 athletes from 13 nations have registered to participate including for the first time, Thailand and Canada who have entered teams. The entry list features top names including Linn Soemskar and Robin Norum (both SWE), Ludvig Soegnen Jensen (NOR), as well as Emanuelle Becchis and the Bolzan sisters, Anna and Lisa (all ITA).
The Sollefteå municipality has made large investments with an upgraded rollerski track, where the majority of competitions will take place and also built a brand new course for the sprint race in the city centre.
The competition programme features distance, sprint and relay events as follows:
3rd August: Individual competition 15-30 km free
4th August: Knockout sprint free
5th August: Mass start classic
6th August: Team sprint free
