Falla & Klæbo for the win at Drammen city sprint

There must be a special bond between Maiken Caspersen Falla (NOR) and the city of Drammen as the 28 yea-old wins the city sprint for the 5th time. The course in C technique also held its advantages for Johannes Høsflot Klæbo as he secures not only the win but also takes over the Overall World Cup lead again.
From the prestigious course through the woods of Holmenkollen, the FIS Cross-Country World Cup family moved 50km southwest to the city of Drammen. The 1.2km sprint course in in Classic technique led around the Bragernes church in the city's center. For many athletes the city sprints are a welcomed contrast in the World Cup calendar. The cheering crowd was surely given a great race atmosphere as Falla took the win +0.8 seconds before Astrid Uhrenholdt Jacobsen (NOR) and Natalia Nepryaeva (RUS) following on the third rank, +1.06 seconds behind. Those tenths of a second cost Nepryaeva the take-over of the Overall World Cup lead by only 2 points.
In the mens race, Johannes Høsflot Klæbo really found a course to his favour as he kept control during all the heats, winning the finals +0.89 seconds before his team colleague Eirik Brandsdal and Richard Jouve from France (+2.17 seconds).
