Johaug and Krüger win Skarverennet 2019

The Skarverennet in Norway marks the ultimate season end race for a wide range of competitive Cross-Country skiers - this years number of participants: 12'200 people!
The 2019 edition on 27th April was won by Therese Johaug and Simen Hegstad Krueger. Find the full media release here:
A little wind, fog and debris does not stop Skarverennet 2019.
Therese Johaug won the women's class for the tenth time while Simen Hegstad Krueger took a superb first place in the men's class. Kari Øyre Slind came in second, while Marte Mæhlum took this year's third place in the ladies class. Ingvild Flugstad ended up in fourth place.
In the men's class Thomas Bucher-Johannessen came in second place and Vebjørn Turtveit got away with the third place. Martin Johnsrud Sundby failed to defend his first place from 2017 and ended up with 10 places. Petter Northug ended up in a 16th place.
Plus degrees, wind and rain, the participants did not stop to go Skarverennet. The elite class for ladies started just above kl. half 12. The men's elite class started 15 minutes later. At the same time in the target area, a satisfied trim participant could report super mood among the participants even though the weather was not the best they have experienced.
The cliff with its 37 km long trail runs along the foot of Hallingskarvet from Finse to Ustaoset and is arranged by Geilo IL. This year's race is the 46th in the row. The race each year represents a worthwhile period for the ski season both for elite runners and fitness runners.
