Swiss-Ski completes its Cross-Country coaching staff with François Faivre from France. At the beginning of June, the 41-year-old took over the last vacant position of the second coach of the men's team.

Faivre has worked for the French Ski Association for the past nine years - until 2014 as a trainer and coordinator at the national training center for French Cross-Country skiers in Prémanon, after which he was responsible for the French long-distance runners in the World Cup until the end of last season. During this time, the French men's relay won three bronze medals on major events (World Cup 2015 in Falun, Olympic Games 2018 in Pyeongchang and World Cup 2019 in Seefeld). In 2015, Maurice Manificat was also able to have World Championship silver worn over 15 km, at the 2018 Winter Games he won bronze in the team sprint together with Richard Jouve.

Faivre trained as a trainer at the renowned Institut National du Sport, de l'Expertise et de la Performance (INSEP) in Paris. The father of three children lives with his family in Prémanon in the French Jura, right on the border with Switzerland.

At Swiss-Ski, Faivre will be one of two trainers who work closely with the Elite men's team in addition to Kein Einaste. "We are very pleased that with François Faivre we have been able to win a top man from the neighboring country as the new coach for our men's team," said Christian Flury, head of the Cross-Country discipline at Swiss-Ski. "In the past few years, François has looked after a strong Cross-Country nation and, with his wealth of experience, will support our team with a great deal of know-how, but will also challenge."

With the arrival of François Faivre, the coaching team of discipline boss Christian Flury is complete. Einaste and Faivre are responsible for the men's team Elite, Ivan Hudac for that of the women. Peter von Allmen, together with the resigned athlete Toni Livers, is taking care of the U23 athletes as assistant coach; Marco Isenschmid trains the juniors with the support of Pascal Clement.
