The womens 10km C mass start was scheduled for the afternoon and 64 athletes were on the start list. Ebba Andersson (SWE) skied in front of the group and led the compact field around the first leg. Along up in the front was also Rosie Brennan (USA) who fights for a top-3 finish in the Distance World Cup. However, in the first round, Brennan experienced two broken poles and was set back.

Into the second round, Yulia Stupak (RUS) had made her way into the leading position and was closely chased by Norway’s Heidi Weng. For the bonus points, 5.2km into the race, the trio Stupak, Weng, Andersson together with Tiril Udnes Weng (NOR) and Jessie Diggins (USA) built the head of the group and had gained already a 10 second margin to the successors.

In the final lap, it was down to Stupak, Weng and Andersson. Yulia Stupak could not be caught up and wins the top spot for tomorrows Pursuit competition before Heidi Weng and Ebba Andersson.
