The moguls skiing season is officially underway in the Northern Hemisphere, following intense training camps and competitions in the Southern Hemisphere. After successful stints in Australia and Chile, teams have shifted their focus to final preparations in Europe and North America. With just over four weeks to go until the World Cup opener in Ruka, Finland, excitement is building as early competitions and key training sessions kick off the season.

This weekend marks the first event as China hosts a FIS-level competition in Harbin. Meanwhile, two premier training venues in Europe—Hintertux in Austria and Idre Fjäll in Sweden—are now open and bustling with activity. These resorts are providing World Cup athletes with ideal conditions to sharpen their skills ahead of the upcoming competitions. Both will host FIS Open events soon, with Hintertux taking the stage on November 9-10, followed by Idre Fjäll on November 16-17.

The well-known slopes of Hintertux, renowned for their challenging moguls course, are buzzing with energy as teams from various countries wrap up their final training sessions. The FIS Mogul Opening at Hintertux has quickly become a staple of the pre-season, drawing athletes from over ten nations. Fans can expect to see sharp turns, big jumps, and technical mastery as athletes compete on one of the sport’s most demanding courses. This event serves as the perfect kickoff to the 2024/25 moguls competition calendar.

A week later, Idre Fjäll will host its FIS Open on a brand-new World Cup course. The challenging 240-meter track, with a steep 27.8% gradient, is set to push skiers to their limits ahead of the double World Cup event scheduled for December. As a key training ground in Europe, Idre Fjäll provides athletes with an essential opportunity to fine-tune their form and test their mettle before the World Cup season gets fully underway.

With the countdown to the Ruka World Cup in December, these early competitions and training camps are vital for preparation and provide a glimpse of the exciting season ahead. Teams are already showing strong form, and the 2024/25 moguls season is shaping up to be one packed with thrilling action. Stay tuned for more updates as the race for World Cup success heats up!
