Successful alpine skiing training camp in Beidahu (CHN)
Mar 13, 2024·Inside FISThe Ski Association of Hong Kong, in collaboration with the International Ski Federation (FIS), organised the second alpine training camp in the picturesque and renowned ski resort of Beidahu, located in the province of Jilin, China.
The training camp was attended by coaches and 30 athletes from various parts of Asia, including participants from Hong Kong, Tajikistan, Chinese Taipei, Iran, Kazakhstan, Nepal, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, and Lebanon.
The programme, led by two FIS coaches, comprised on-snow training sessions in the morning and gym, dry-land training, and analysis sessions in the afternoon.
The collaboration between the Ski Association of Hong Kong, led by Secretary General Samson Siu, and the Jilin Province event coordinator, Allen Wang, was exceptional, contributing to a highly beneficial training experience.
Following the camp, the 32nd Asian Alpine Ski Championships for Juniors took place on March 9th and 10th, featuring two Giant Slalom (GS) and two Slalom (SL) events for both men and women. Participants from across Asia competed, and Nazarov Medet from Uzbekistan, one of the participants of the training camp, clinched the title of Asian Champion in GS.
