World Cup Finals in Saalbach: Focus on Mobility Innovation
Mar 14, 2024·Inside FISPreparations for the highly anticipated Audi FIS Alpine World Cup Finals in Saalbach (AUT) are in full swing. The spotlight will not only be on action on the slopes, but also in the surrounding events.
To contribute to the overall event, FIS, together with ummadum and OSV, is introducing a mobility app to allow spectators to travel to Saalbach sustainably to make the World Cup as 'green' as possible on the issue of fan mobility.
A new sustainability concept for mobility has been developed to both increase the use of public transportation and use the ummadum app to increase carpooling opportunities. Visitors will have the opportunity to offer rides to the World Cup finals or join a carpool themselves.
To encourage visitors to take part in carpooling, signed bibs from the overall World Cup winners in each discipline will be raffled off to a few lucky ummadum app users.
With this initiative, FIS, together with Saalbach's Audi FIS Alpine World Cup Finals 2024 organisers, are setting a precedent for environmentally conscious sports and emphasizing the importance of a sustainable approach for future major winter sports events. The World Cup finals in Saalbach will not only be characterized by outstanding sport performances but also by innovative solutions for environmentally friendly travel to and from the competitions, making it a sustainable highlight in the skiing world.
