A total of 220 competitors, from 20 ski clubs and associations in Chile and Argentina, are heading to the Antillanca Ski Resort in the Puyehue National Park to kick off the most important ski championship in the Southern Hemisphere, the Patagonian Children's Championship. The official inauguration will take place on Monday, September 9th, while the races will be held from Tuesday, September 10th to Friday, September 13th.

The Patagonian Children's Championship (CIP FIS), now celebrating its 50th edition, has been a cornerstone of children's skiing since its inception in 1968. This event brings together young skiers aged 11 to 15, who compete in various alpine skiing disciplines — slalom, giant slalom, and super giant slalom — as well as cross-country skiing — relay and individual events. The competition has established itself as the largest and most prestigious in Iberoamerica and the Southern Hemisphere.

Among the participating skiers are young athletes who train at Chilean ski resorts such as Antillanca, El Colorado, La Parva, and Argentine ski resorts like Cerro Catedral, Chapelco, Cerro Castor, among others. These young athletes will have the opportunity to showcase their skills in a spectacular natural setting that offers ideal conditions for skiing.

The inauguration ceremony, scheduled for September 9th at 4:00 PM at the Antillanca Ski Resort, will be attended by local authorities, representatives from the Chilean Ski and Snowboard Federation, coaches, families, and ski enthusiasts from around the world.

It is an honor for us to host this historic edition of the Patagonian Children's Championship. This event not only celebrates sporting excellence but also highlights the importance of international cooperation and the preservation of our natural environment.Martin León, President of the Organizing Committee

The Antillanca Ski Resort, located in the heart of Puyehue National Park, offers an unparalleled natural setting, surrounded by native forests, volcanoes, and lakes.
