Tino EDELMANN
Aug 31, 2018·Nordic CombinedTino Edelmann started skiing at the age of six and came to the sport of Nordic Combined because of his father Klaus was a coach in Thuringia at that time. He made his first jump at seven years old and when he was ten, he started attending the Sports School in Oberhof. The resident of Erfurt made his World Cup debut in 2003 in Oberhof and has since then started piling up good results, namely 8 medals at Junior World Championships and a growing collection of Olympic and World Championship medals.
The World Championships at Falun, Sweden in 2015 gave Edelmann his first championship victory, a gold medal with the team. Individually, he has two silver medals from the World Championships in Oslo and Liberec to show for.
Similar to Berni Gruber, Tino's second passion is music. He plays the guitar, bass and keyboards and is even studying music and sports and movement pedagogy at the University of Erfurt since 2012. Together with Bernhard Gruber and Ilkka Herola, he's part of a Nordic Combined athlete band that occasionally played at World Cup events in the course of the winter 2015/16.
