Eric Frenzel makes short work of Ski Jumping winner Mario Seidl of Austria in the 10 km. to claim his fifth win of the season in the first Gundersen LH at Val di Fiemme. Rydzek comes from behind to finish as runner-up ahead of a resurgent Magnus H. Moan. Nordic Combined is a winter sport in which athletes compete in both cross-country skiing and ski jumping. The first major competition in Nordic combined was held in 1892 in Oslo at the first Holmenkollen Ski Festival, an event still held annually. The sport was included at the 1924 Winter Olympics, and has been on the programme ever since.
