Sufficient snow for Lahti Ski Games
Feb 21, 2020·Nordic CombinedThe snow control for the upcoming Lahti Ski Games was positive. Snow Controller Tami Kiuru reported on good conditions on the jumping hill and cross-country tracks, even if Lahti did not receive any natural snow.
Ski Jumping
“The HS130 has an adequate amount of artificial snow at the landing and the HS100 is on standby and has an adequate amount of artificial snow. The in-runs have an ice track with a cooling system. The hills have been closed during the warm and rainy period to ensure the best possible conditions for the athletes”, Kiuru reported
Cross Country (NC)
“The 2.5 km South, including the Karpalo Sprint course, is skiable and covered by approximately 10 cm of artificial snow including the stadium. The Southern course is 6-9 metres wide”, Kiuru continued.
Due to an extremely warm winter in the Southern Finland, the Lahti region has no natural snow and therefore training opportunities are limited. Hence, he courses will be closed to the public from 24.2.
