After the retirements of Adam Cieslar, Wojciech Marusarz and Pawel Twardosz this year and Pawel Slowiok after the previous season, the Polish Nordic Combined team has been reduced to one man only: Szczepan Kupczak.

“That was the crew, next season I'm going alone. Thanks guys for all the moments together and what we've achieved! What we've been through only us . I think we raised the bar high. Now let's see if the young ones want to beat us, I'm counting on it. And I wish you the best! See you someday”, Kupczak wrote on his official Facebook page.

To facilitate the training for Kupczak, the Polish Ski Association PZN reached an agreement with the Czech Republic. As previously reported, coach Robert Mateja has joined the staff of Poland’s southern neighbours. Szczepan Kupczak will have his own physiotherapist, and Jan Szturc is still working with him.

“This summer I will be getting ready for the next season with the Czech team. Let's see how it works. So far, I have had some doubts... who wouldn't? At the same time, however, this is an interesting situation and challenge that may help me to thrive in the future”, Kupczak continued.
