Jarl Magnus Riiber is the winner of the final World Cup competition in Lahti (FIN), after already being in the lead after the Ski Jumping round.

After light snowfall during the night, the final Ski Jumping competition of the 2022/23 season took place in winterly conditions on the Salpausselkä HS130.

The Norwegian reached 126 meters (152.9 pts) in the morning and took the lead. Therefore, he was the first one to go into the 10 km cross-country race in the afternoon.

Rank 2 after jumping went to Laurent Mühlethaler who jumped the furthest distance of the day with 133 meters and collected 147.7 points. The French went into the course 21 seconds after Riiber.
Kristjan Ilves (124.5 m, 145.9 pts) placed third, 28 seconds behind the leader.

Riiber was able to increase the gap to his pursuers at the beginning and was in the lead after 2.5 km by 34 seconds.

Muhlethaler and Ilves worked together but couldn't keep this season's Best Skier Jens Luraas Oftebro at bay. The Norwegian caught them after 3.6km and picked up the pace.

The gap to Riiber continued to shrink, so that after 7.5 km, Oftebro and Ilves were separated just by 17 seconds from the leader, while Mühlethaler fell back.
In the last lap they finally caught up with Riiber, who had to give everything at the entrance to the stadium in order not to lose his lead.

The Norwegian was the first to head into the home stretch and sprinted to his 57th World Cup victory while Oftebro (+ 1.8sec) secured the double podium for Norway. Ilves (+5.2 sec) placed third.

The overall World Cup victory goes to Johannes Lamparter with 1367 points, making him the third Austrian man to win the overall World Cup, after Klaus Sulzenbacher (1987/88, 1989/90) and Felix Gottwald (2000/01).

Ryota Yamamoto secured the Best Jumper Trophy, while Jens Luraas Oftebro won the Best Skier ranking. With 4925 points, Germany wins the Nations Cup 2022/23.
