FIS Development Camp in Predazzo
Jan 17, 2025·Nordic CombinedThe FIS Development Camp for Nordic Combined and Ski Jumping, held in Predazzo, Italy, from January 12th to 17th, 2025, brought together junior athletes and coaches for an inspiring week of training, learning, and cultural exchange.
This year’s camp welcomed 20 athletes and 10 coaches, including 9 Nordic Combined athletes from Georgia, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Latvia, and Romania. Most participants were within the Junior World Ski Championships age group, representing the next generation of talent in these disciplines.
Comprehensive Program
The camp provided a well-rounded program designed to develop both technical skills and overall athletic performance. Key activities included:
Ski Jumping Training: Sessions on Predazzo’s hills (K10/K20/K30/K60), focusing on technique and confidence-building.
Ski Jumping Equipment and Safety Checks: Ensuring athletes are equipped with the safest and most efficient gear.
Nordic Combined Endurance Training: Tailored exercises to build stamina and strength.
Cross-Country Coordination Training: Practical sessions at the Lago di Tesero Cross-Country venue to refine technique and coordination.
Additionally, the program included specialized workshops for coaches, such as kinesio taping and safeguarding, ensuring they left with valuable tools to support their athletes.
Cultural Exchange and Lifelong Memories
The camp wasn’t just about training—it was also an opportunity for participants to connect with peers from other countries. A special cultural exchange session allowed athletes to share stories and traditions from their homelands, fostering understanding and friendship across borders.
