The Women’s FIS Nordic Combined Summer Grand Prix in Val di Fiemme (ITA) opened under bright blue skies this morning with the Provisional Competition Round on the normal hill in Predazzo. A total of 32 athletes from 12 nations lined up for two training jumps before the provisional round on the HS109 hill.

Finland’s Heta Hirvonen delivered the strongest performance of the day, flying 97 meters and scoring 126.3 points. With that, the 16-year-old secured her very first PCR victory – a milestone in her young career.

Just seven seconds back in second place was Alexa Brabec (USA), who impressed with a 98.5-meter jump and 124.6 points. Hirvonen’s teammate Minja Korhonen also showed strong form, finishing third with 98 meters and 123.6 points, 11 seconds behind the leader.

The day’s longest jump came from Ingrid Laate of Norway, who soared 99 meters. Despite her distance, lower style marks left her with 115.8 points and a ninth-place finish.

The stage is now set for the Individual Gundersen competition, which will kick off tomorrow at 10:15 CET.
