Just in time for the weekend it's the latest edition of the Freestyle Rundown, where this week we'll be checking in on opening day at one of our favouite resorts in the southern hemisphere, jumping off a bridge in Norway, hitting the backflip-burpee challenge Ukrainian style, and much more from around the world of freestyle.

But yes, first things first, about that situation on the south side of the equator, where this week our friends in Cardrona opened things up for winter 2020 and a bevy of top-tier rippers were on hand to put the early season Cardy park through its paces. Style master Beau-James Wells was there, and we are now officially jealous...

@cardronanz

Along with the good news of opening day at Cardrona was the good news that the one and only James "Woodsy" Woods made his return to snow there at his home-away-from-home, after an extended recovery from a knee injury...

It’s been while and that while has been pretty testing. But as of today I’m back and have never been more grateful 🙏🙌 . . 📷: @hamishmcd // @cardronaparksnz @cardronanz #40years

Also on hand was Finn Bilous, who threw it back to the 80's with this exceptionally chic example of one-piece finery...

Opening day was a doozy 😈 @cardronanz #40years | Photo: @jameswoodsy

Speaking of Mr. Bilous, he got constructive in his time in pandemic lockdown, revisiting some of his old footage from the past several seasons and emerging with this nine-minute edit of pure goodness...

But even as things are opening up in New Zealand, glacier action continues in the northern half of the globe, including at Norway's Fonna resort, where Norway's own Christian Nummedal has been hanging out and dropping blissed-out left 7's...

Oh yeah, Sebastian Schjerve is there in Fonna too, keeping things nice and smooth...

Good to be back🤩✍🏼

With his first World Cup victory at the season-ender in big air in Destne (CZE), X Games big air gold, and impressive results from start to finish of the winter, the 2019/20 season was a breakout one for France's Antoine Adelisse, and we're pumped to see what he's got for us in his return to snow in Les 2 Alpes for some summer sessioning. Judging by the smiles, it's gonna be good...

Back at it!!! 😁 Incredible day with my bro @hugolaugier 🙌 💙 #pictureorganicclothing #maplagne #poc #timetoplay

Also back on snow this past week was Adelisse's countryman Jean Frederic Chapuis, as the ski cross star and Sochi 2014 Olympic gold medallist looks forward to getting back into shape for the 2020/21 season after missing most of this past winter due to appendix surgery...

But hey if you don't have access to the goods in the southern hemisphere or up high in the glacier here in the north, why not find your nearest swimming pool, build a ten-story drop-in and a four-metre kicker, cover it in astroturf, and chuck some triples like Switzerland's Permin Werner...

Feels good to be back on triple🔥 🎬: @misch_1963 • #freestyle #aerials #sendit #sände #flips #twist #summer #backatwork #2970

However, if that all seems like a bit too much work or you, you could just wander over to the nearest bridge and huck for glory like Birk Ruud...

(Bonus post because Birk's a one man content factory lately. Check the technique on this board-to-board transfer...)

U know the vibes👜

Apparently the Austrian freeski team didn't get the memo re: the giant ramp and/or the bridge, although they did manage to find a pool, where they got the whole gang together for a little photoshoot...

Go Skate Day went down on Sunday, and Cody Laplante did just that...as in, he went skating. Ya gotta love a big ol' boneless on any day of the week though, amitrite?

Happy go skate day everyone! Skateboarding has brought me so much joy and I hope everyone gets to feel a little piece of that today :) Much ❤️ #goskateday #goskate

Also going down this past week was Olympic day, and while there was thousands of posts to choose from out there, this one from Fanny Smith does a pretty good job of summing up what it's all about...

Happy Olympic day🤩 See you @beijing2022 💪 . . . 📸: @gepapictures . . . #olympics #winterolympics #skicross #freestyle #olympicmedalist #olympian #swissteam #swissolympic #switzerland #beijing2022 #dream #passion #workhard #goals

Massive crowds, a perfect course, the incomparable thrill of head-to-head action...we'll take a moment to look back at the Deer Valley dual moguls World Cup any chance we can get, and last week just such a chance presented itself in the form of this post from the US Squad...

The 2020 @intermountain @fisfreestyle Dual Moguls World Cup returned this year to @deervalleyresort! The Park City crowd was amped for the third and final night of freestyle competition and the world’s best mogul skiers did not disappoint. The #PowHERhouse SHOWED UP with 3️⃣ American women skiing in the semi-final rounds. @TessJohnson beat until-then-undefeated France’s Perrine Laffont to ensure two American podiums. @HannahSoar had a career best in second place and after a head-to-head competition with Tess in the Small Final, @jaelinkauf took third!🥉 Canada claimed both wins with Justine Dufour-Lapointe for the women and Mikael Kingsburgy (earning his 61st World Cup win) for the men. WATCH the 2020 Intermountain Healthcare Freestyle International Dual Moguls FIS World Cup at Deer Valley Resort TONIGHT at 7 pm MDT on Facebook!! #USSTRewind

Speaking of moguls, looks like the your 2019/20 Freestyle overall crystal globe winner Perrine Laffont is still at it in Val d'Isere. Love the smile, but we would also love to see some CLIPS, Perrine...

Happy 😁

Alright, time for a little rapid fire round here - Workout Edition. First up is US SX ripper Tyler Wallasch, who is basicaly just straight up #goals in the muscles department at this point...

When gyms started closing down, I found myself with a cool opportunity. My little bunker of a garage gym turned into a world class training facility basically overnight. Planning my off season training, this seemed like a good chance, with just focus on gym training to see what I could accomplish. @curtisrjackson and @johnkuzmik got me dialed in, new programs in the gym and the kitchen. At 2 months in I had gained 22lbs. Being able to dive in during quarantine and fully focus on training wouldn’t be possible without my sponsors @monsterenergy, @huskichocolate, @atomicski . And also supporters @onnit , @rhone , @go_exxentric ... I’m almost at 3 months now into the offseason, and the ball is rolling 💪🏼 @usaskicross . Thanks for shooting @martyrobertson

Kazakhstan's first lady of moguls Yulia Galysheva has been keeping it real with the sunny backyard sessions...

A little less impact and a lot more zen for Swiss ski cross ace Sanna Luedi as she continues her long road back from knee injury...

Have an energized start into the week y‘all☀️😘 #justbreathe #flow #happymonday #loveandlight #beautifulswitzerland🇨🇭

And, finally, we'll finish things off this week with a wild one from the Ukraine, where aerials athlete Oleksandr Abramenko leads a small army in a little game of backflip-burpee insanity...

Команда фристайлистов участвует в Олимпийском дне 2020 #sport #freestyle #olimpicday #olimpicday2020ua #freestylesport

Not sure whether to feel dizzy or exhausted or a whole lotta both after watching that, but either way we are wrapping up this week's Rundown and going to take a nap. But before we go, we'll point you once again to this week's #ClassicsLive poll, where a couple of aerials epics are on deck for your voting pleasure. Click your favourite below on the way out and we will see ya back here next week!
