50 Days Countdown to the FIS Ski Cross World Cup season 2023/24

Get ready for a record-breaking FIS ski cross World Cup 2023/24 season!  We're about to embark on an adventure filled with thrills, challenges, and jaw-dropping action. Featuring a fresh total of 19 races in 8 countries, including 3 brand-new venues and a remarkable 1 million CHF in prize money up for grabs.

Our journey begins with the classic French tour stop in Val Thorens from the 5th to 9th of December. This iconic location has been hosting back-to-back races since 2012. Val Thorens is renowned not only for its podium celebrations at the Folie Douce but also for its infamous Negativ Turn, a guaranteed action spot where heart-stopping overtakes happen just before the finish line.

We then traverse the Alps to Switzerland's picturesque Arosa, where a night sprint spectacle unfolds under the mesmerizing glow of floodlights. While fast starters often have an advantage, history has shown that anything can happen right up to the last meter.

Continuing south, we cross the Italian border and find ourselves in the beautiful Dolomites of Innichen from the 19th to the 22nd of December. Innichen is another classic, just before the festive season, where ski cross athletes battle it out. They eagerly anticipate winning the South Tyrolean Speck to take home for Christmas celebrations.

The new year begins on the other side of the Atlantic, where the ski cross family reunites from the 10th to the 21st of January in Canada. The ski cross battle intensifies on the tricky slopes of Nakiska, nestled in the Canadian woods with numerous challenging banks. While the Canadian Rockies may tempt with backcountry skiing, there's no time to waste as we head back to Europe to test the new World Championship track in St. Moritz. This renowned Swiss jet-set destination, known for its breathtaking views over a frozen lake, is taking it to the next level after hosting European Cup races last year.

Right after our Swiss adventure, the second premiere takes place in Alleghe, Italy from the 31st of January, where Italian fans will get the chance to cheer on their new world champion. The site of the last World Championships showdown is our next tour stop: Bakuriani in Georgia, hosting another set of back-to-back action-filled races.

After a brief break to recover from all the traveling, the ski cross family reunites at the end of February in Reiteralm, Austria, for a technical course with high speeds and guaranteed action. This venue is not only a frequently visited training site but has also been the showdown for numerous European Cup races, promising to deliver intense racing.

In March, another premiere awaits us as we visit Oberwiesenthal, Germany. Last year's no-show due to the lack of snow is now a distant memory as we prepare for surprises in this brand-new location.

For the second-to-last stop, we return to Switzerland for the third time this season, from the 15th to the 17th of March. In Veysonnaz, the enthusiastic Swiss fans, with their signature bells, encourage their heroes to give their all in the fight for the Crystal Globe.

The final showdown takes us all the way up north this year, unfolding in spectacular fashion in Idre Fjäll, Sweden. Brace yourselves for high-speed, high-jump races, where tight racing, drafting, and breathtaking overtakes will keep you on the edge of your seat until the finish line. As the saying goes, we save the best for last, with the King and Queen of the tour being crowned in the most spectacular venue of the tour on the 24th of March.
