The 2026 Ski Cross FIS Junior World Championships concluded on Saturday with the mixed team event. It was more glory for the home team in the end as Switzerland took the top spot on the podium in St. Moritz.
The top Swiss duo of Chiara Von Moos (SUI) and Celien Crettex (SUI) combined for the fastest time to take the title. It is the second gold of the weekend for Von Moos, who won the women’s individual on Friday.
The mixed team event consists of one female athlete and one male athlete for each pairing. Each nation can enter multiple pairings. The male skier races against three other male skiers in a usual ski cross heat. The times then determine the start times for their female teammates, as the winner of the men’s heat gives his female teammate a time-advantage head start and so on.
The teams then battle it out through the bracket like individual cross events.
In the end, it was Switzerland 1 battling through to the end to top the podium. The duo was fast all day, qualifying fourth early on before winning their quarterfinal heat. They placed second in their semifinal before bouncing back to win the big final.
Von Moos finishes the weekend two-for-two with world championship titles.

Canada’s only entry took second in the big final. The duo of Roxy Coatesworth (CAN) and Beckett Mars (CAN) finished in second. Coatesworth continues her strong weekend as she placed third in the individual event on Friday.
Rounding out the podium was Germany 2. The pairing of Max Wizemann (GER) and Julia Machl (GER) did enough to take the bronze. It was a great weekend for the Machl family as Sebastion Machl (GER) won the men’s individual on Friday.
Coming up just short of the podium was the United States 1 team. The pairing of Walker Robinson (USA) and Morgan Shute (USA) were the fastest in qualifying. They also won their semifinal before settling for fourth in the big final. Shute was fifth in the individual race.
Austria’s only entry had a great run despite qualifying 12th. The duo of Janik Somerer (AUT) and Lena Westermayr (AUT) pulled together to win the small final to finish fifth. Westermayr was 12th in the individual and Somerer was ninth.
