Gorazd Bertoncelj new head coach in Slovenia

As announced on Wednesday, Gorazd Bertoncelj will follow Goran Janus as head coach of the Slovenian national Ski Jumping team.

Gorazd Bertoncelj was recently coaching the Slovenian youth team and, in this position, he as working with athletes like Domen Prevc, Tilen Bartol, Ziga Jelar, Timi Zajc and Bor Pavlovcic.

Goran Janus shall work with the Slovenian Ski Association as sports director for Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined in the upcoming years. The 48-year-old has been the head coach of the Slovenes since 2011 and achieved many successes during his time on the job. Among other achievements, he was leading Peter Prevc to win the overall World Cup and the 4-Hills-Tournament in 2015/16.

"An Olympic medal was the goal of the Ski Association and myself, unfortunately, we couldn't reach this goal. We started as a small team in 2011/12 and we further developed the team over the years. We have a strong team, that gained respect all over the world. I had a lot of fun during all these years. Seven years is a long time, and now I'll continue working for the Ski Association in a different position", Goran Janus is quoted on the website of the Slovenian Ski Association.
