Hoelzl the best in Oberstdorf qualification

Chiara Hoelzl won the qualification for the Ladies World Cup Ski Jumping in Oberstdorf. From the big hill the Austrian set her jump to 124,5 meters. With 130,9 points Hoelzl was beating a German trio with Carina Vogt, Svenja Wuerth and Juliane Seyfarth on places two, three and four.

Strong German team
Olympic champion Carina Vogt performed 124,0 meters and was beaten by Hoelzl by 6,6 points. Teammate Svenja Wuerth got 115,3 points for her jump to 120,5 meters. Juliane Seyfarth achieved 114,5 meters and 108,2 points on fourth place. Best Japanese athlete in the qualification was Kaori Iwabuchi with 103,6 points on fifth place, followed by Finland´s Julia Kykkaenen and Anastasiya Barannikova. Luisa Goerlich on eight and Ramona Straub, who shared the tenth place with Slovenia´s Ursa Bogataj, put the cherry on top of the strong German performance.

Lemare best French lady
Lea Lemare finished 14th as best French lady, Canada´s Taylor Henrich qualified on place 15 ahead of Sofya Tikhonova from Russia and the best American Nita Englund. Barbora Blazkova from Czech Republic finished on a shared 29th place with from Canada and qualified as well.

Takanashi outstanding
Meanwhile Sara Takanashi performed the longest jump of the qualification round with 127,5 meters. Daniela Iraschko-Stolz and Katharina Althaus with 126,0 meters got the closest to the Japanese, but with two gates longer inrun. The single competition starts on Saturday at 4.20 pm (CET).
