Stefan Horngacher is the new German head coach

After lots of speculations over the last couple of weeks, this decision doesn't really come as a surprise now: As the German Ski Association (DSV) announced on Wednesday, Stefan Horngacher will be the successor of Werner Schuster, who stepped down as head coach of the German ski jumpers after eleven years at the end of the 2018/19 season.
"We are convinced that Stefan Horngacher will continue the success story of Ski Jumping in Germany with fresh impulses", Karin Orgeldinger, DSV athletic director, said about this decision.
Werner Schuster also praises his fellow Austrian: "Of course, Stefan is the logical candidate. He and I worked together for eight years. He is a fantastic coach and he proved that in Germany and Poland."
Stefan Horngacher, who has been living in the Black Forest with his family for a long time, was already working with the German Ski Association from 2006 to 2016 and will now return to his old workplace after three very successful years as head coach of the Polish team.
"I'm looking forward to my new task and the return to the German Ski Association. First, it's about assembling a strong coaching staff and then we will determine where to place the emphasis on during the upcoming training period. Together we want to continue the successful work of the past years", said the 49-year-old former world-class ski jumper.
