Kreuzer wins at Holmenkollen

Chiara Kreuzer from Austria won the Women's Ski Jumping World Cup at Holmenkollen in Oslo on Saturday. Kreuzer prevailed with a lead of 5.5 points ahead of Slovenia's Ema Klinec and Anna Odine Stroem from Norway. Triple world champion Katharina Althaus finished fifth.

"This is outstanding, I didn't expect to win at all, I just wanted to make good jumps. I love being in Norway and I especially like the hill here in Oslo. Now I'm looking forward to the competition tomorrow", said Kreuzer who celebrated her eighth World Cup success with the day's victory. For the first time Kreuzer stood on top of the podium at Holmenkollen in Oslo.

With her second place, Ema Klinec defended the lead in the RAW AIR overall standings she captured yesterday with her qualification victory. Klinec now leads with 383.6 points ahead of Kreuzer and Stroem (both 375.1) who are tied on points.

Japan's Yuki Ito finished fourth in the day's ranking ahead of Germany's Katharina Althaus and Selina Freitag.

World Cup leader Eva Pinkelnig from Austria finished eleventh. Pinkelnig leads the overall World Cup with 1506 points clearly ahead of Katharina Althaus (1247). With four competitions left, Pinkelnig has the best chances to win the overall World Cup for the first time, the women's season final will take place after the RAW AIR in Lahti, Finland.

The second women's competition at Oslo's Holmenkollen starts at 2:45 p.m. Sunday.
