Saturday's competition for Althaus in Willingen

With jumps on 133 and 149.5 meters, Katharina Althaus achived  the victory in the first of two individual jumps this weekend in Willingen. Ski jumper from Oberstdorf scored a total of 264.4 points on the Mühlenkopfschanze and clearly prevailed against Ema Klinec from Slovenia, who came to 137.5 and 146.5 meters (256.3 p.). Third place went to Japan's Sara Takanashi with 139 and 141.5 meters (245.7 p.).

After the first round, Althaus was on third place and then took advantage of a favorable upswing phase in the final round and sailed first to the new German women's record, which should finally give her the fifth victory of the season.

Nevertheless, Takanashi and her teammates seamlessly continued Hinterzarten's strong weekend: Yuki Ito and Nozomi Maruyama finished fourth and fifth, and these were also the best results of the season for them. Chiara Kreuzer was sixth as the best Austrian ahead of the second best German Selina Freitag. Thea Minyan Bjoerseth finished eighth best Norwegian ahead of the best Canadian Abigail Strate. Kreuzer's teammate Eva Pinkelnig completed the top ten.

Luisa Görlich and Anna Rupprecht achieved further top 20 results for the DSV in 15th and 20th place, Jacqueline Seifriedsberger also achieved the same as 19th for the ÖSV. For the fourth Austrian Hannah Wiegele, there was also reason to celebrate – and twice: She set her best World Cup result in 22nd place and set her a new record with 121 meters. Juliane Seyfarth and Pauline Heßler also collected World Cup points in 23rd and 24th place. Nika Kriznar did not start, so that only 36 jumpers were counted.
