Unstoppable Prevc comes from behind to triumph again in Oslo
Mar 14, 2026·Ski JumpingShe’s already claimed the Crystal Globe, but Nika Prevc (SLO) shows no signs of slowing down as a stunning final round jump secured a 17th World Cup win of the season in Oslo (NOR). The Slovenian was down in fifth after an opening effort of 118m, only to finish on top of the podium again after landing the longest jump of the day in the final round with 127m.
The overall second in the World Cup standings, Nozomi Murayama (JPN), took second for her 17th podium of the season, finishing 2.4pts behind Prevc on 226.1pts. Double Olympic Champion Anna Odine Stroem (NOR) claimed third on her home hill thanks to a final round effort of 124m.
Heavy fog meant limited visibility for all the competitors in the first round on the Holmenkollen hill, but Prevc didn’t think that affected her performance.
“I knew I could do a strong jump to climb up the results but I wasn’t sure if it would be enough. It was just me in the first round, I was a little bit impatient and couldn’t get the right direction,” she reflected.
Maruyama had led the standings after the first round with an opening jump of 124.5m, but her second effort of 122.5m fell just short of the points target set by Prevc. But she does strengthen her hold on second place in the Crystal Globe standings, increasing her lead to 281 points. Stroem’s third place in Oslo means she replaces Lisa Eder (AUT) in third overall.
Stroem was one of four Norwegians who finished in the top ten on their home hill. Silje Opseth, Heidi Dyhre Traaserud and Eirin Maria Kvandal finished fifth, sixth and seventh respectively.
“The wind is a lot better than yesterday so it’s more fun today,” said Kvandal.
“I’ve seen Oslo worse than this so it’s ok! It’s nice that we will have Ski Flying now, I’m really excited for that.”
The biggest mover of the day was Agnes Reisch (GER), who climbed from 13th place to fourth after a final round effort of 125.5m earned her 118pts. It was the second longest jump of the day after Prevc.
Josephine Pagnier (FRA) was the standout performer of the opening round, landing 124m for 108.8pts in fourth and a chance at her first World Cup podium since 2024. But she dropped to 12th after landing 114.5m in her final jump.
