The 2019 edition of the Audi Nines big air competition went down on Saturday at Soelden’s (AUT) Tiefenbach Glacier, and the event that has come to be known as one of the world’s premier showcases of progressive snowboarding and next-level course building did not disappoint once again, despite some weather issues throughout the week.

After five days of riding and filming on the mind-blowing Nines course, competition day saw a Japanese sweep of the ladies’ podium lead by Yuki Fujimori and her backside 900 indy and frontside double cork 900 top jumps. The top two riders on this past season’s big air World Cup rankings, Miyabi Onitsuka and Reira Iwabuchi, would finish up the day in Austria ranked second and third, respectively.

Over on the men’s side of things, Norwegian powerhouse Mons Roisland would earn top spot in Saturday’s competition, stomping standout tricks that included a switch backside 1620, frontside triple cork 1440, and a super-stylish switch backside 540.

Second place went to Sven Thorgren of Sweden - whose triple backside rodeo went down as one of the most jaw-dropping tricks of the day - while Austria’s own Clemens Millauer rounded out the podium in third.

Other awards winners at the Audi Nines included Fujimori and Sebbe de Buck (BEL) for the "Best Style," and Laurie Blouin (CAN) and de Buck who were designated  as the “Rulers of the Week.”
