The the 2025/26 Snowboard Park & Pipe North American Cup season came to an close a week earlier than the Freeski tour, with the final events of the season hitting Aspen’s Buttermilk Resort from 24-26 March for Halfpipe, Slopestyle and Rail Event competitions.

With five Slopestyle, three Halfpipe, two Big Air, and two Rail Events on the season there was plenty of action on the Nor-Am circuit last season, and an exciting campaign from start to finish wrapped up with four promising youngsters from the U.S. Snowboard squad earning their personal quota spots for the World Cup next winter.

On the women’s Slopestyle/Big Air rankings it was 15-year-old Giada Brienza leading the way with 340 points, despite not taking part in the final competitions of the season in Aspen. With two victories and five podiums in her six Slope/Big Air starts - as well as top spot at the U.S. National Championships to cap the season off - Brienza will be a welcome addition to the U.S. team on next season’s World Cup tour as she looks to build off the experience from her two World Cup starts in 2025/26.

While the men’s Nor-Am Slopestyle/Big Air series saw some big names dropping in on competition over the course of the season, it was 15-year-old Toranosuke Komiyama taking the overall honours when it was all said and done.

Komiyama claimed two victories and four podiums in Slopestyle and Big Air competition last season, including a remarkable run to finish off the winter in which he won the Mammoth and Aspen Buttermilk slopestyle events while also finishing second in halfpipe at Mammoth and third in the pipe at Aspen.

With his end of season heater, Komiyama would not only win the Slopestyle/Big Air overall, he would also finish second in the halfpipe rankings, announcing himself as the latest triple threat to be hitting the world stage next season.

Women’s Snowboard Halfpipe continued the good news for the U.S. team, with 16-year-old Ava Lilly making the jump from a third overall finish last season to number one in 2025/26.

In her three starts, Lilly took two wins and a third place finish, while also earning the best finish of her four-start World Cup career with a 14th place result in Copper Mountain (USA) back in December.

For the men it was Kade Martin making short work of the Nor-Am season on his way to his personal quota spot for next season’s World Cup, going two-for-two with victories in Mammoth and Aspen Buttermilk at the end of the season to turn two weeks of work into the season gold medal.

Already a veteran of 11 World Cup starts where his best finish so far is an 11th place from this season’s Calgary competition, the older brother of double World Championships medallist Ollie Martin will be looking to approach the lofty heights already reached by his little bro in the near future.
