FIS Telemark World Ski Championships Rjukan (NOR)

The 2019 FIS Telemark World Ski Championships organised by the Norwegian Ski Federation and the Fjellguten Aktiv AS will get underway on 20th March in Rjukan (NOR) with the Opening Ceremony on 19th March, to kick off 4 days of action.

The FIS Telemark World Ski Championships will include medals in the following disciplines: Classic, Team Parallel Sprint, Sprint and individual Parallel Sprint. In total, 7 Gold medals will be awarded by the time the Championships officially conclude on 23rd March 2019.

The Organising Committee welcomes everyone to celebrate a great Telemark Festival at the official Opening Ceremony at the centre of Rjukan on 19th March 2019 at 18:00.

We are delighted to welcome the world’s best telemark skiers once again to a world championship. We see it as a great honor and will do our very best to make it a memorable championship for both athletes, coaches, leaders, spectators, sponsors and organisers. We have been organising World Cup/World Championships in Rjukan for the last 15 years, and we know people in the area love “the telemark weekend” with top international skiing combined with a lot of cultural activities– President Kjell Gunnar Dahl, head of the Organising Committee

The Events will be staged in the region of Svarten for Classic and in Pukkelen for the other events. The public, friends and family are welcome to watch the exciting competition for free.

I am delighted that FIS Telemark is back, once again, in Gaustablikk. Events here are always expertly organised by Kjell Gunnar and his team and well attended by spectators and athletes from all over the world. This is the 12th official FIS Telemark World Championships and I am looking forward to what promises to be a very well fought competition live in Rjukan– Andrew Clarke, Chairman of the FIS Telemark Committee
